She Neru

herneru

Dug through my raw scans and found some sketches from last year, so I thought of giving them their spotlight before 2015 ends.

This one’s a gender bend of someone I know who is a big fan of Pablo Neruda. This person have dedicated Neruda poems to lots of people that I think the gesture have lost its meaning, but this person was the first one to show me no doubt the most sincere poem I have ever read to date.

I admit I suck at drawing hands so I always try to hide it, and speaking of hands here’s a snippet of probably the most popular and the only Neruda poem I am familiar with (you may take a guess, but most probably know this by heart):

so close that your hand upon my chest is mine,
so close that your eyes close with my dreams.
